We purchased a kitchen table from Geiman Furniture Gallery in 2007. The first table we received had missing finish on the top.
We called and reported this to Tim at Geiman furniture and he would not refund our money, and reluctantly agreed to replace.
After returning the first table and receiving the second, after unpacking we noticed the same defect. Again... We called and reported this to Geiman Furniture. After repeated phone calls from both my wife and I, he finally agreed to replace the defective furniture.
Well you guessed it... We now have had the third since January 11th and within just a couple of weeks the finish is flaking off all over the top of the table. Again... This is just the veneer of the table top. It is so thin that simply setting a glass plate or fork on the table will cause the finish to come off. It is completely useless and unacceptable to have a table that won't even hold up to extremely light usage.
After calling Tim Geiman, owner of Geiman furniture again... He has told us that we must have damaged the table and refuses to do ANYTHING for us.
Please be aware of the extremely poor and 'shotty' quality of this type of furniture that is sold here at Geiman Furniture gallery in Cold Spring. I realize that we have been ripped off and likely will never recover the money that we have lost on this purchase. My intention by writing this is to hopefully save others from the same fate.
