Superior Walls franchisee not honoring warranty, installed incorrectly and Superior Walls would not assist

We used Superior Walls because our contractor suggested and our research on Superior Walls website and their Bob Villa tape seemed solid but mostly for the 15 year warranty. Long story short, Superior Walls' franchisee, Collier Foundations installed our walls incorrectly and our home was sliding off the foundation.

We noticed it just by looking, they all denied, so we had 3 hightly reputable (one that has dealt with Superior walls) come out and we had to pay for engineering reports which supported our claims of the faulty installation. Because our Contractor had not paid them (Contractor says b/c of faulty work, but who knows) Collier and Superior then took the position of not assisting at all.

They abandoned us, caused our GC to as well, and our dream log home sat in the weather without a roof for over a year while we tried to find someone with Superior Walls experience to repair. Pat McShane, owner of Collier said if I sent him a letter from our bank that we paid the contractor, he'd come help and pursue the contractor later.

We sent the later then never heard again. He just wanted proof we paid the contractor. Collier made very very little attempt to get paid by the GC, and never notified us. We had to call him. Superior would not assist, only claimed they "wished" Collier would have handled it different. We all went to court. Judge found Collier was not owed the total 15K value b/c of repairs we had to pay for. The GC paid in December, but Collier still will not honor the warranty and has yet to provide a reason. Superior Walls has done nothing to help us, nothing to encourage their franchisee/rep to help us.

All repairs were done by a qualified Superior Walls experienced contractor, so we have not violated our end of the warranty, and if they had just fixed them in the first place would not have had to have others. It is shameful. My family could have been injured, or worse, or at the least, faced a huge financial burden if we hadn't discovered the problem. Collier know there was an installation issue the day they installed it, and still let it go.

You need to know that whether the product is good or not, the problem is that you buy it based off Superior Walls ads, marketing, promises, but then are at the mercy of the installer who can decide if you get the warranty, or assistance at his own discretion. It is a disgrace that these companies can do this to consumers and not be held accountable and disgusting that Superior Walls owners can sleep at night knowing what my family went through.

Please please understand that your foundation is the single most important element to your home. If it is installed wrong, nothing will be right. Believe me, we had to adjust alot. Please if you have had problems, use your consumer outlets like the BBB, FTC, Attorney General and Consumer Affairs to get help and to make sure the next family doesn't go through this.
