Kitchens Direct
Eric Reza - Cory Redwine - Nat Substandard material and workmanship

I first was led to this company by way of a billboard along a hwy.
It stated that you could have a complete kitchen redone for under $4000 with granite counters and new cabinets.
I called the 800 # on the sign to find the nearest show room.
As it turns out they have 7 to choose from in the Southern CA area including Las Vegas NV.
My wife and eye got a date to go and check out the kind of stuff we can get for under $4000. As we arrived it said on the building "Carpet Warehouse" nowhere did it read "Kitchens Direct" or anything about kitchens.
We went inside to be greeted by a young kid with 2 black eyes.
I did my best to lok past that, after all they were going to give me a new kitchen for under $4000.
After spending some time with the sales person (kid) we learned that for under $4000 we would only get a cheap looking melamine cabinetand granite top up to 20 linear feet.
For $6000 we could get up to 20 linear feet of Oak cabinets with granite and for a limited time they will throw in a free tile job to go with it.
And a under mount sink.
We looked at the Oak display it looked real nice. The drawers have nice guides that bring the drawer out as far as the drawer is long.
And they also agreed to throw in 3 glass doors and one corner cabinet unit and a spice rack.
All we had to do is schedule a initial measuring to get the ball rolling.
We figured the deal sounded really good the cabinets looked nice for the money and free tile and under mount sink? Let's go for it.
So they came out to our home to measure. The guy (Eric) measured our floor and said we had 150 square feet of floor space it was 50 sq ft more than the free tile offer is. But he said hed throw it in anyway.
On the invoice he allowed fore 244 sq ft of tile installed porcelain.
He asked for a $200 non-refundable deposit to get the ball rolling and have the designer come out and design how our cabinets were going to go in.
The designer came out and measured once again like Eric did and determined that we needed 20 feet of cabinets as the offer stated and we should be at the $6000 no problem.
I later got a call for Eric stating that the job is going to cost $10600 from $6000
An instant $4000. Overnight. Now that they got my $200 non refundable
I guess they figure they can just jack the price right up.
Taking into consideration what other companies charge for the job
I settle for $10000 they accepted.
I wrote them another check for $3267 the next time now they want a payment according to their invoice is all less $1000 after the cabinets go in.
I asked them for a itemized receipt on several occasions so I know what I am paying for and I never got it the only thing I got was a faxed invoice with the tasks written on it a and a derived price, $4600 higher then the original price was

The demo team came out to remove our old cabinets they couldnt speak any English and further before I had a chance to turn off the water
they un-did the water line going to my sink and flooded my kitchen.
The demo was a nightmare.
Then the tile guys came out to do the tile. They worked all day into the evening non-stop barely spoke English the job turned out to be really bad there is lip page the chairs catch on the tile not being level and
further the job is 1/2 inch off and the lines are crooked. They made a line to go by and by the time they got to the other end of the room the coarse went off to the right enough to be noticeable.
I called the sales office and talked to Eric my sales guy about the bad tile job and all I was told was the guy never receives any complaints how can that be.
I asked him to come out to my home and inspect my tile job.
I called them for 2 1/2 weeks to come out to my home to look at the tile job and not one person from that company came out to my home to see if there was a problem.

Now I have installed cabinets on a uneven floor and under the cabinets there is air space on one side of the cabinets to the other due to the tiles being laid so badly.
The granite guys came out and installed the granite and complained due to it was difficult to get it level from the bad tile job the cabinetry sat on.
While the granite guys were doing their job they chipped a few of the tiles
we called and informed Eric of the problem and we have yet to see anybody come out and remedy the problem.
Oh and the $1000 due at the end of the job well, just before the cabinets were installed I was told that I have to pay the full remaining balance if I want
them to finish the job! New company policy! My invoice I am going off of that I started the job with stated that I pay all but $1000 when the cabinets go in until the end of the job. But now for some reason I am to pay the full balance and the job isnt even near completion yet. I need granite and the tile is still a mess. But I was told that if I dont pay in full when the cabinets are installed I wont get the job finished. A cash paying customer!!! I gave them all the payments they wanted on time with no problem then they pull that crap.

Also the cabinets, this didnt surprise me came out of boxes and needed to be assembled and the boxes all read "MADE IN CHINA"!
The guys assembled the cabinets in the same fashion you would assembled prefab boxed furniture from Wal-mart. The post and turn screw type of fasteners along with the plastic fastener type holders to hold them together "JUNK"!
Granted when they got done with the installation the face of the cabinets look nice and is some kind of hard wood to look like oak.
The first night the wife was loading up the cabinets the doors started falling off because the screws holding the hardwood doors on were less than 3/8" long and put on with a screw gun and turned too far therefore stripping them out.
So there I am $10600 later re-screwing my new cheap cabinets with longer screws so the doors dont fall of on top of my family.
They probably paid all of $1000-$1500 for those cabinets and thats probably a high figure. Ill give them a few hundred for the tile and a few more for the granite
I got ripped off. The reason I am writing this is I hope anybody
Considering Kitchens Direct reads this first.
THEY ARE NOT WORTH THE MONEY HEART ACHE OR THE TIME!
All they will do is rip you off and the customer service is a big 0 there is no customer service!
Im not quite sure about them yet I think they just opened up shop to do work hap hazardly and screw you if you have a problem because if you want your kitchen finished pay us the full amount before we get done or you can piss off attitude and believe me when your kitchen is out it really causes a lot of trouble on the family so they know they have you over a barrel.

So before you decide top have your kitchen redone take you time and do your home work and pre qualify the company you hire because they are going to be with you for a while and you are going to have issues. And the company that can handle the issues is real company not a fly by night. I thought the big Bill Board Big Money advertising showed a established company but that was old school I guess, that sure isnt the case anymore!
And the kid with the black eye? Well you be the judge!
Buyer beware!
