Area Builders and Contractors, owned by Ken Monilaw and Rick Zuba have turned out to be very good con artists.
I did a couple of jobs for them in which they have not paid me in full. They have one excuse after another for non payment. At the end of the day, the money they receive from homeowners goes right in their pockets.
They have money for elaborate gifts for their women. They have money to go on vacation. They have money for every tool imaginable, which they don't need as they sub most of their work out. They have money for new lettered trucks. They have money for an office, with garage storage I might add, that they don't need. They have money for new laptops. But they don't have money to pay the subs or complete a job they have been fully paid on.
I, along with every other victim, can no longer get in touch with them. They have disconnected their phones.
I was taken by their "poor me" stories. "We are broke." "We can't afford anything anymore." "Please wait for your money." "As soon as we get paid, you will get paid." "You know we're going to pay you."
If their was a way to lock these scammers up, I would. Please chime in if you have been victims of these two losers.
