They should be put out of business. I would be shocked if anyone ever received their order! Petersburg

If you are reading this, I hope it is because you haven't yet placed an order with cratefurniture. I only found these reports AFTER I threw my money away.

On 12/28/07 I was billed on my MasterCard for an order placed with HomespunHomeFashions aka cratefurniture.com for $1,296.00 for merchandise (sofa & loveseat cushions, covers, arm rests, throw cushions and two chair cushions/covers plus stain protection and delivery fees.)

It was a difficult to place order - every time I called I only got an answering machine but eventually I was called back when I was home - but they could never be reached directly by my contacting them. They would leave a message saying they were calling to place the order, but never would they give a number to reach them. I sat by the phone one evening waiting for them to call and place the order. Very very pathetic - should have been a red flag.

On 2/28/08 I still had not received the items ordered. I called and left several unreturned messages simply asking when my order would arrive. I then e-mailed via their order form system (typing a message into the ordering form), since I had no other way to reach them - as they do not provide an e-mail contact either. I asked them to tell me in which month my order would be delivered.

At 7:32pm on 2/28/08, I received a computer generated phone call from cratefurniture.com 804-732-7446. I picked the phone up and heard a message about processing my refund request and to contact my lender. I was very confused, since I never asked for a refund. I decided to check online and saw that many customers had similar things happen and never saw a refund because it took 60 days before the charge became disputed. Noticing that it was exactly 60 days since I placed the order (and after normal banking hours too), I immediately called my Citibank Master Card hotline and requested that the charges be disputed.

I am very disappointed. I can only hope that my credit card company fights hard for me. They should discontinue allowing cratefurniture to use credit card services. I contacted the Virginia BBB and encourage everyone else to do the same.

This company should be closed.
