I am in the same situation as many other people.
I ordered some furniture from them in October with an estimated delivery date of January. I was told in January by Natasha that the furniture should arrive in 2 weeks. During late January and February none of my calls/faxes/E mails were returned and today I went to their offices and found it was padlocked. Now their phone cuts off after 5 rings.
I called the manufacturer (American Drew) and found that they had received no orders from North Carolina Funiture for over 6 months. So clearly we are all victims of a scam. They have been taking 50% deposits from people, promising delivery, explaining delays by stating that there were "manufacturing delays" and NOT PLACING THE ORDERS. If this is the situation with American Drew furniture then it is likely to be the same situation with other Furniture Manufacturers.
Thankfully I paid with a credit card, the credit card company refunded my money today. I was told that since North Carolina Furniture had taken a depost and the delivery date has passed they are in breach of contract. My money has been refunded and the credit card compnay will sort out the matter directly with North Carolina's bankers. If you have placed any deposits with them CONTACT YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY NOW!
