Many shingles in the neighbourhood (~200 homes with ages 3 - 9YRS) blown away in mild winds several times in the last few months...
First time, Lennar homes (Home builder) (not sure if it has to do with CertainTeed or not) took the initiative and address the issues within 8 HRS and have roof repaired with further 'complete Fix' to be expected. Which obviously never happened and whoever did contract did
Second time, contacted CertainTeed with no luck and 'scripted' answers "we can't tell you when it will be fixed". When I inquired about the expected rain and damage it can bring - answer was - " I am responsible for avoiding further damage" Yes! I was expected to climb on the roof and do "something" to protect it when I have 'paid' certainteed to do the job at the time purchasing a home. This time, I was fortunate enough to get the attention of Lennar homes as well...
Third time, contacted CertainTeed. I was told on my second call (after 4 days) that it will be least 2 weeks before I have 'someone' to come take a look at it. Yes, 2 weeks with no shingles with further damages to be my responsiblity...
Do NOT trust on CertainTeed work, Warranty or extension to warranty... You will be receiving a letter that your issue has been addressed BUT it will ONLY be in the paper not in practical manners.
Worst mistake could be to hire them on indivisual basis, you will be surprised how much you have to do to even 'initiate' the claim process... Yes, read their 'fine' prints and you will quickly see that it is TOTAL useless...
