I purchased about 20 of the Certainteed windows in 1992. The cover of the warranty stated very clear (LIFETIME WARRANTY, LIMITED NON-PRORATED) In 1992, the Certainteed windows were made by Viwinco in PA.in Certainteeds warranty it also states, they only warranty the vinyl lineals and not any part not made by them. They also state that they licensed other companies to manufacture parts of the window but they did not mention what parts or who made them or what their warranty was. I bought windows from Certainteed and not 20 other companies. They came put together as one window, not in pieces. If this is what Certainteed considers a lifetime warranty, than I would never buy another Certainteed product. Now after reading about all three of there reviews, I would make sure if I buy windows from any company, that there are not made by Certainteed, Viwinco or MI Windows.
