I hired this company to remove my belongings from storage and load onto a truck. They charged $95/hour for 2 movers. After less than one hour, one of the men hurt his foot. For the remaining 2 hours, he did nothing. I am a very petite 53 year old female with serious physical limitation, yet I was forced to load many items. The "movers" also attempted to inflate their hours, claiming they began 40 minutes before they arrived.
On the day in question, we were experiencing a horrific ice storm. After my things were loaded, I also had to attach an auto transport to the truck, after which I drove from TX to OK on the treacherous roads. Because the "movers" arrived so late and took so much time with only one person doing the work (besides me), I was not able to leave until after dark. The drive was a nightmare. I had not anticipated driving at night with such a load on icy roads.
Since I was alone, and at the mercy of these awful men, I did not attempt to dispute or argue about the bill. Once I moved, and somewhat settled into my new home, I contacted the company about the pathetic service I received and inflation of the bill. Clay, who apparently handles the business end of the company, agreed to refund $95 of the amount I paid. I have followed up repeatedly via telephone and e-mail. It has been several weeks. They did not honor our agreement for the refund, which constituted a legally binding oral contract. (I am an attorney) They also clearly breached our agreement initially when they did not provide 2 men to perform the work at the stated rate.
In addition, the "movers" also lost, tossed, or discarded my bed casters and "legs" off of pieces of furniture that I have had to replace myself at substantial expense.
There is nothing brave about taking advantage of a little old helpless physically disabled woman trying to live on a puny fixed income!!!
