All Star Movers
Didn't hold up to contract. Dishonest. Fraudulent. No Morals

My wife and I recently purchased a home and was moving from our former residence in Cherry Hill, NJ. This residence is a 4 bedroom colonial with a finished basement. We contacted "All Star Moving LLC" (License DOT#1068116 MC#442013 PM# 000838) because of the affiliation with the Better Business Bureau, and spoke to "Spike" by calling 1-800-383-0322. We explained we needed to move on November 29th, had 4 bedrooms, full finished basement, piano, pool table, etc... They GAURANTEED us 6 men and 2 trucks and quoted us a price of $119/hour.

We had asked if we need a contract, if they need to come out to estimate (like other movers), etc, and Spike repied that we need not worry, they will be there first thing in the morning on Nov 29th..."Don't worry about a thing. Our verbal agreement is all you need. It's as good as a contract!" Given the affiliation with the BBB, we figured they were reliable and valid.

The morning of the move arrived, and so did "Peter" and his crew of 5 men with 2 trucks. They walked through the house and stated that "this job is too big, " "we were not aware of the pool table and piano, " and "we cannot do this move." Even though we had told Spike about the piano and Pool Table, they "had no record of it." We told Peter we would leave the piano and pool table so what they thought is the original job will be the original job... Peter called the office, and the owner of the company (whom we were not ALLOWED to talk to) told Peter to just leave the jobsite. They drove away and we were then left with a house full of furniture, in which a walkthrough for the subsequent owners was scheduled later that afternoon. We scrambled to rent a u-haul and scrambled to find another mover.

The next mover was successful in moving us with only 2 trucks and 6 men.

We were helpless. All Star Moving was fraudulent in their verbal agreement. You cannot imagine how we felt as All Star Moving trucks drove away, without giving any reasons other than "the job is too big."

All Star Moving should not give verbal agreements over the phone if they are unable to estimate jobs in this fashion. Furthermore, they should not be in business if they cannot hold themselves to business standards others do by honoring verbal agreements/contracts.

Unfortunately we feel helpless that nothing will be done about this, but it is our hope this can be prevented somehow in the future so another innocent victim does not get taken advantage of like we were by these criminals at All Star Moving.
