Do not do business with Concorde Window and Siding - owner Bob DeCristafaro is a thief and a liar
Our story starts when we entered into a contract for a home improvement project and gave Concorde a $13,000.00 deposit in Mid October. All seemed well. Unfortunately, just two days afterward, my spouse found out that they were going to be laid off from their job and we immediately called to cancel the contract as we would now have wait. (In NY, there is a three day cancellation clause where the homeowner can cancel without penalty. Contractors are supposed to wait during this period, including not cashing deposit checks)
When we reached the contractor, we found out he had immediately cashed the check the very next morning and claimed he had spent most of the money on our project already (this was just two days later). He claimed he would give us a full refund but it was going to take "a few days".
We attempted to recover the money / stop the check but were ultimately unsuccessful.
We were patient and tried to work with the contractor vs getting the authorities and lawyers involved and the contractor assurred us that we were going to be paid back. He made promise after promise, discussed payment schedules with us and claimed several times he had sent checks. Lie after lie after lie... Nothing was ever received.
It's now been 2 months and we haven't received a dime of our money back and this deadbeat won't even return our calls.
This creep has taken $13,000 from us, essentially stealing the money from our family at a time when we are already going thorough hardship due to the loss of a job.
Please do yourself a favor and do not trust this company or this man - he is a thief and a liar.
