I ordered cushion covers about six weeks ago from Crate Furniture and my Visa was charged immediately for the amount: more than $400.
Having been told I could expect to receive my covers prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, and wondering about the status, I called the company last week. I could not get through to a live person; could only leave a voice mail message. No call back. I called again yesterday, and earlier today. Still no return call. I began to feel uneasy about the situation and googled the company name along with the word "problem." Very disappointed to learn that this company has a number consumer complaints!
I also called the Petersburg Chamber of Commerce; was told "they're having issues" and given a consumer complaint phone number.
At this point, I've left a fourth phone message for Crate Furniture, letting them know that if I don't hear back from them within 24 hours, I will call and cancel my order. Once canceled, I can dispute the charge with my credit card company and hopefully get my money back. If this fails to rectify the situation, I will seek legal assistance.
Stay tuned!
