September I purchased 1500 square feet of MOHAWK carpet from LOWES, Fort Worth, Texas on the 12 months same as cash Lowes Credit.
The carpet, which is manufactured by Mohawk, was not installed until October. Lowe's hired the installer. Not only was the installer incompetent, Lowe's has been avoiding responsibility to correct the problems arising from their independent contractor's shoddy workmanship.
Woodwork including baseboards and door jams were damaged in all four (4) rooms of carpeting and hallways PLUS furniture was dropped and damaged in the process of the installation.
Carpet seams are uneven at doorways and in one room the carpet appears to have manufacturer's defect in the pile.
I have contacted LOWES six times to complain about these issues. To date no resolution on this matter have been reached. It is time to "pay the bill" on this purchase. I have tried by phone and in person to get a history of the account without success.
Any clues from other unhappy LOWES consumers on how to resolve this matter would be appreciated. To summarize: the damage to my property has not been resolved, the manufacturer has not taken responsibility for the defective carpet and LOWE's/GE Credit's preditory lending practices are looming in my future.
