Ripoff My parents paid $10K i.E. 1/3 payment to Larry Dwyer for work to be completed on their house Contractors stopped working and wanted more money Have not returned to finish job since

My parents entered into a contract for siding some time in April.in January/February, my parents called Larry Dwyer from the yellow pages and inquired about vinyl siding. According to my mom, Larry Dwyer was very organized. Larry Dwyer showed my parents siding books and bonded with them. Larry Dwyer even stated he was very responsible for his neice and took her out on the weekends. I believe this is his way of bonding with the customer.

Per my parents contract with United Roofing, my parents paid 1/3 up front (i.E., $10K) and the remainder would be paid at the completion (satisfactory) of the work. Prior to the Nor'easter, United Roofing took off all of the old aluminum siding from the house. Prior to replacing the vinyl siding, they used styrofoam as an insulation on the house. Mid day they decided to not finish the remainder of the day citing for more money. Larry Dwyer and the contractor wanted more money before they would continue working on the house. Needless to say, my parents were not going to breech the contract.

Several calls were made to Mike Siubba, the owner of United Roofing. No calls were returned. Several calls were made to Larry Dwyer. Again, no phone calls were returned. Three weeks have past and still no returned phone calls.

During the nor'easter and because the contractors did not properly protect the house for inclement weather (e.G., gutters were removed, facia removed, aluminum siding removed, etc.), my parents' house endured flooding and cascading sheets of water down the walls. My parents called the Better Business Bureau but to no avail. They were useless.

I urge others who have had this unfortunate incident happen to them to bond together and file criminal complaints. We're coming for you Mike Sciubba, Larry Dwyer, and company or anyone else associated or doing business with this person.
