I moved from Lake Worth, Florida back to central Pennsylvania on February 28. We had a fully paid five year service agreement with this company for our residence and had actually been very pleased with their service technicians. I managed rental properties and used this company exclusively for service on these units as well as my own home.
The week we moved, we called to cancel the service agreement and obtain a refund of the remaining term of the service contract. We were told to "send us a letter and it'll be sent to your new address". After 3 letters with no response, we tried to contact them through the BBB. Their excuses included: "we have the file, it will be send next week", then "we can't find the file" then "we never heard of these people" The end result, no refund.
Now a few hundred dollars isn't going to make or break my life, but I am extremely dissappointed that the new management of this company "better known as the second generation" has chosen to ignore our refund request.
If I was still in south Florida, I would be picketing the business on the sidewalk until they complied with their agreed refund. Since I can't be there, this will have to do.
My advice, if you buy a five year service agreement from this company, make sure you don't move for five years.
