I install this alarm system in my house over 3 years ago, my daugther was working for them as sales person.in middle of december i call in to notify that i wanted to cancell and payoff what ever i have left on it. Rep told me that i cant becuase automatic renew that i had to call end of october. This contract was due to exp now 3, and i called on 12. They did not notify me of the renew nor was i told of auto renew for another 3 years and that there were no way to work around it. I wanted to cancell was this alarm was not working at all, and i sold the property. I call back in 1 spoke w/supervisor and she said i have 3 options: to transfer to person who bought the home was not an option for me, to keep paying for it (so pay for something i was not using) or to payoff and get 10% discount. Lets see 42.40 month time 36= $1526.40- 10%= 1373.76 that i would have to pay. You know i call end of dec so that makes it over 2months ahead i call to cancell and i coudnt' that's a rip off big time. On top of that my daughter the sale person was never ever told of this auto renew and had couple friends and family install this alarm. So if when u were train and was not told how is the consumer suppose to know. Especially when we are talking about 3y. This is my dilema if renew is to happend shouldnt be consumer notify especially when contract is taken for 3 years. Or should have sale rep told of this so she can reported to those who she sell her services to.
