Uses bullying techniques to attempt to force consumer to accept damaged product or pay additional freight and restocking charges ripoff Bellevue

We purchased flooring on line from ifloor.com. When the product arrived at our residence, the trucking company was unable to download the pallets of material. Both pallets were damaged. We refused the product. When contacted representatives of ifloor attempted to bully us into accepting the defective material and waiting for them to replace the damaged material. We refused. They then tried to assess us additional freight and restocking charges in an amount at least 1/3 of our initial order. We contacted our credit card company and filed a dispute on the charge.

For consumer information, common business practice is that the contract is between the shipper and the trucking company. If product is damaged the consumer may refuse the shipment and the shipper settles with the trucking company.

I have 2 theories on this matter.

1. Ifloor.com wanted to have the use of my funds while awaiting settlement with the trucking company

2. Ifloor.com knew the product was damaged before shipping and is attempting to recoup any losses on the back of the unwary and uniformed consumer.

In either event, this is a very shoddy business practice and I would issue a warning to any consumers tempted to do business with this company.
