Maytag washers poor quality and non-responsive customer service Cleveland Tennessee

This complaint is concerning Maytag washing machines.

We purchased a Maytag washer and dryer set in May at our local Home Depot store. We chose the set based on past experiences and the reputation of Maytag appliances (having had our previous Maytag washer and dryer set for over 20 years). We wanted a model which would accommodate large loads and which would last and chose the Maytag Heavy Duty Legacy Series with Stainless Steele Tub.

We cannot express our utter disappointment with our purchase.

Not even a year old and it now requires $137.95 in repair costs (out of our pocket) and over $425.00 in parts (covered by warranty). A service rep came out on June 15 to assess the problems and told us a customer service rep would call us with a repair service call date that day. After 3 days, we called and were told that the parts are on back order and that it would be 7-10 days. We have now been without a washing machine for over 15 days, and still no word on a repair date from Maytag customer service.

How sad that even their customer service department does not understand what service is, and that Maytag products have declined in quality.

That was the last Maytag product we will ever purchase.
