On April 19th I went into the Greenville hh gregg store and purchased a refridgator and dryer and it was to be delivered on Friday, April 21. They told me that they would call be early on Friday and give me a 3 hr window for delivery and then call be at least 30 minutes before actually delivery. My husband took the day off to be home all day for this delivery. They called my work number and left a message that they would deliver between 4 and 7 that evening. My husband went ahead and cancelled a afternoon eye appointment and I gave away tickets to see our local hockey team play in the playoffs.
I got home at 6:30 that evening and no word from anyone. I called the store and was told that they would get in touch with the delivery team and have them call me. At 7:30 I again called the store and told them no one had called and I was upset. They put me on hold and finally a operations mgr picked up and I told him the situation and found out that they had my work number as a contact number and since we close at 5:30 could not reach me. (Now our message list hours of operation from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday-Friday)
The operations mgr assured me that he would change the contact number and make sure my appliances would be delivered on Saturday with the same routine of calling me to give me the window and call 30minutes before actually deliver. He even gave me a $75.00 gift card which I felt was fair.
Next morning, no call. I called the store at about 10am and was told that they would be delivering between 11am and 2pm. At 1:45 I called back to the store only to be told that they were running about 30minutes late. At 2:50 I called again and was put on hold continuelessly while they tried to find the crew and a mgr. No luck. I was finally told by a office mgr that the store mgr was busy with a customer and could he call me back.By this time I was furious, at first I told her okay but before I got off the I said No—just cancell the order and credit my credit card and that I was going to contact the home office.
I went ahead and got in the shower, blow dried my hair and dressed to go out (about 20 minutes). I figured that I would get a call back since they knew how mad I was, but no.
I called the home office and got a lady who again put me on hold for several minutes and finally the operations mgr from Greenville picked up on the line, I told him point blank that his store was the reason I was calling the home office and I really did not wish to talk to him, but I did. Again he could not tell me where my applicances were and could not contact his crew.
Finally I told him that if his crew was so hard to get in touch with he needed to get them beepers and if they were so stupid as to call a number and could got reach someone and did not have the sense to call the store for another contact number he needed a new crew.
I finally told him to credit my credit card and cancel the order. He did not seem sincere in anything he said and really offered not explanation other than they could not reach the crew. This store has only been open a few months and I know that I will never shop there again and I will tell everyone I know not to.
