Nicholas Homes personnel lie through their teeth that they will handle problems —and then consistently —never come through. They have problems retaining people —they are either quitting or being fired. Consequently, the homeowner has no continuity and even greater difficulty getting the excessive punch-list items resolved.
There are excessive punch-list items as Nicholas Homes hires bottom-of-the-barrel sub contractors who often sub-contract out the work as well. I have been told by some of these trades that Nicholas does not pay their bills on time and also does not pay very well. They also have told me that many other Nicholas Homes buyers have had trouble with their homes.
Nicholas Homes tries to pass off poor construction, crappily hung drywall, scratched and repaired cabinetry, uneven foundations, etc., etc. Their workers damage things and their management shrugs it off. They seem to think that if they keep shrugging you off, you will just take care of it yourself.
Don't buy a home from them unless you are skilled in construction and clean up after them.
I have heard they rank the lowest on the JD Powers Survey of Arizona Home Builders. Live and learn. I wish we checked that before buying...
