Ripoff Misrepresents Availability of Support Refuses to Respond to Complaints

Thermospas is a spa (hot tub) manufacturer that does not sell through brick & mortar stores - they market directly from Connecticut and through a network of local salesmen. They advertise, and the salesmen reinforce, that they are represented in all major cities and have a very responsive business, with a superior product, and have been in business since 1983. However, after I put a nearly $3000 deposit on a spa, when it came time to install the spa, I found out that the local salesman had quit and apparently there is no replacement or alternative. When I was referred to their Delivery section, I was promised someone would be in touch, but no calls ever came. When I called again, I got voicemails promising callbacks, which never came. When I wrote letters to the President/CEO, asking for resolution or a refund, no response ever came. I now have complaints pending in both Connecticut and my home state of Texas with the Atty Generals' offices and the Better Business Bureau. If those are unsuccessful, I will engage an attorney in Wallingford, CT or New Haven, CT to file suit. I warn everyone to avoid buying a Thermospa product - the company apparently has no ethics.
