We signed a contract with A*M Contracting (AKA Raymond Deal) to put an addition on our house, as well as build a garage, and refurbish an apartment on the first floor. The contract was signed on 12/05/05. We have given him over $45,000.00. Today is 1/24/06, and he has only shown up to do work on five seperate occasions. Five days in almost two months!!!
He never returns our calls. My wife and I went to the building inspector on 1/18/06 to see when Mr. Deal applied for our building permit, and we were told that he never did. The next day, he finally called us, and we set up a meeting with him for noon on 1/23/06. He never showed up for the meeting. He never called. He never returned our numerous calls.
We found out from another one of his "customers" that he ripped them off also. He is also on Probation in the State of California. He has a serious gamling problem, and he is not even allowed to set foot in Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, NJ because of fraud.
If only we would have this beforehand...
