I called Garage Door Sevice Company Denver for general service (tune up) on my garage door opener. The technician performed a torsion system reset $149.00 A service call charge $49.00. And a 1 hour minimum labor charge $89.00 Total $213.00 I paid by check and he left.
Later that day my wife pointed out to me that the garage door had a 2 inch gap to the floor when closed. I called Garage Door Service Company Denver to schedule a follow up visit to fix the problem.
The technician over tensioned the chain on the opener then with out trying to close the garage door could'nt leave fast enough. When I closed the garage door the drive spindle snapped from the excesive tension. I called the technician back and he tried to sell me a new opener for $750.00.
I then called a reputable company who replaced the gear and spindle for a total of $95.00. I managed to put a stop payment on the check to Garage Door Service Company now they have sent the matter to a collection agency.
