Ripoff Billed total amount instead of advertised 3 easy payments, Invalid 800 numbe

I responded to an infomercial on this past Sunday (Oct. 9) for the Milinex Power Storm. It advertised another free vacuum. The charges would be "3 easy payments of $39.99". After calling in my order, I later decided to alter my purchase by adding the steamer. This was on Tueday (Oct. 11). I started calling the 800-716-8667 number at about 10:30am, as their message stated that customer service was only available during the hours of 10am-4pm. I spent from 10:30am until 3:00pm on the phone. During the morning, after waiting at least 22 minutes per call, a CSR did answer the phone (twice). She asked to put me on hold (twice), afterwhich I was disconnected. Those were my only experiences with a live CSR. The rest of the day I would only hear a message telling me to call back to the number I had just called (800-716-8667), afterwhich I was disconnected. The phone messages boasted of how "important their customers were" and also gave an email address, as "response to the vacuums were so high". I decided to try their email address. It supposedly allowed you to register, and then be able to track or modify your order. After entering my information, error messages came up and I was referred to the 800 number.

I sent '[email protected]' an email about this experience. They never responded.

After all of this, I decided that this was not a company I wanted to deal with. I called my credit card company to make sure that my first payment of $39.99 had not been charged. The credit card representative informed my that IGIA had charged $200 to my account. I sent '[email protected] a second email to cancel this order—no response. FYI, I do not have the product.

I did an online search of both IGIA and Milinex and found similar experiences to mine. I believe that the business of this company is to obtain fradulent sales from credit cards while leaving little to no avenues for recourse to the customer. I really hope that some attorney would be willing to intervene on the behalf of other customers such as myself.
