We signed a contract with Blue Haven Pools of West Palm Beach, FL to build our dream pool at (address deleted) on March 7. Our sales person was John Davidson and was very proactive in having us close a deal on the purchase of this pool with an estimated completion date of July 15.

He sold Blue Haven Pools as a National Pool Builder with all the necessary resources available to complete on schedule. We first started having problems 8 weeks into the project when they failed to submit our permit with the city to build our pool. I called John on numerous occasions during weeks 8-9 and pushed for a permit # and found out they filed for the permit on May 1 and a permit issued on week later.

The first dig of the pool started on May 14 with the first payment of $12,600 sent to Blue Haven. Re-bar for the pool was installed on May 18. For the next 4 weeks, heavy rains had collapsed the walls of the pool and was steadily eroding the dirt up to the rear of our new home.

I call John on numerous occasions, complained, and was always promised a return call. He never ONCE returned any of our calls and I ended up refilling and compacting the dirt to insure no foundation damage to our home.

Blue Haven finely decided they would start the gunite on July 6. During the 7 weeks of waiting, they had a pump evacuating the water from the hole 24 hours a day for the entire 7 weeks connected to my home electric. My electric bill was outrageously high. I called John repeatedly and no response again.

The Blue Haven foreman (Jim) called my back on July 7, not to apologize for the delay, but for more money. I refused until the hole around the outside of gunite was backfilled. I pressured him with a time frame of when the entire pool would be completed and he stated 4-5 weeks max.

I still refused payment until the backfill was completed and he disagreed with me and my scheduled payment was due. I finally hung up on him, but a backhoe was at my home that afternoon to fill in. Jim showed up a few days later to collect a check and I handed it over with the understanding it would be completed in 4-5 weeks.

It's now Aug 8, 22 weeks into the build and 5 weeks after the second promised date and they have only installed the plumbing. At a minimum, we are still looking at another 2 months to complete our pool. Someone needs to stop Blue Haven's poor customer communication and flat out sales tactics lies that miss lead consumers.

I did contact the South Florida BBB to file a compliant on Aug 1 and contacted the local news station in West Palm Beach. The Local CBS News channel in West Palm Beach, FL reported on the problems of Blue Haven Pools in Saint Lucie and Martin Counties. Blue Haven blamed the Pioneer Screening company for the backlog, with Pioneer blaming the hurricanes from last year on the backlog.

I made the point of asking specific questions about screening companies prior to signing a contract with Blue Haven Pools and they were the only company that responded with a We have an excellent relationship with multiple screening companies and currently have a 3 week wait.

As of Aug 5. The BBB in South Florida is reporting on their website The Bureau's report on this company is being updated, and no report is available at this time.

John Davidson from Blue Haven called me today, Aug 8, and asked how everything was going. He received an earful from me, but stated your pool should be finished shortly Totally disgusted with all the Sales lies, I let him have it. This didn't phase him at all.

Not 30 mins later, Christina from the Blue Haven scheduling dept called me and left me a voicemail that John Davidson never provided the scheduling department with my tile selection and they are wondering if I ever selected it and if so, could I fax the tile selections to her.

So now they try to blame the delay on me? I picked my tile out over 30 days ago on July 7. Can't they call the tile company and have them fax my selections over? Why should I need to do there job for them? I became extremely angry after I heard the message and have not call her back yet. She blamed John for the disconnects and John blamed her. Great, I'm have a bunch of 12 year olds build my pool.

Buyers beware, Blue have has NO Customer Service, Sale people that flat out lie to you, are deceiving in every aspect of Service, Delay after Delay and only responded to after filing BBB Complaints and contacting local news. I am on a warpath now and will do everything in my power to inform South Florida Consumers that Blue Haven in a FRAUD.
