On March 3 I purchased an Entertainment Center from Rooms To Go. On March 8 I received a phone call from the store saying this was a popular item and it was back ordered and they would call me when it was going to be delivered.
On May 2 they called asking if delivery would be ok for May 7th. I agree and it was delivered however most of it was cracked & pieces missing. Even though I refused it the delivery men said they could not take it back because they had to have a "customer service specialist" come out and look at it. 2 months after purchasing and it's defective. Oh and the delivery people didn't even put it together. They said they were not allowed to touch anything with glass? They carried it in didn't they?
The 2nd week in May they sent a service man out to tell me that it was cracked, & yes pieces were missing. I guess I must be idiot that I needed to take a 1/2 day of work off for the "specialist" to tell me that.
At the end of May they set up another delivery to replace the cracked piece & bring the missing pieces. After they were over 2 hrs late on a Saturday afternon, Well guess what, it was even worse then the first one. Even the delivery people told me I was crazy and should send everything back. They told me that my money spends anywhere. Laughed how they have job security because everything delivered is usually damaged.
I may add that I was calling the store that day to find out where the delivery people were & they didn't know.in this day & age of cell phones, radios etc - you don't know where your drivers are? They offered my delivery charge back. The manager never came to the phone nor has he returned one of my calls. I told Mike in customer service I would keep it if they would ship me the parts. He offered me 20% off to keep & he would ship the parts.
To date (6/23) I don't have the parts, store won't return my calls and yes I HAVE MADE PAYMENTS ALREADY. I have not been able to use this piece - it's still as they left it on May 2nd.
I am going to try to call again tomorrow - Mike is off on Thursdays to let them know I want this thing out of my house & at the time I tell them. I am very disappointed. I loved the piece when I purchased it - but now looking at a $2000 broken piece of junk I hate it.
