Defective Water valve ruined my home Riopff

On April 11 I had a Maytag Repairman out to sevice my Atlantis washer because the week before the washer overflowed. The repairman replaced the water valve assembly. I left my home with the washer turned off and the lid up. When I returned home four hours later there was 2-3 inches of water through out my entire home. The waher was overflowing so I turned off the water to the washer. The warrenty department could only send out a serviceman the next day. I had to contact my homeowners insurance to get some clean up started. We can not even live in my home at this time because of the damnage! Two days later the repairman comes back out to survey the damnage and look at the washer. It still had the problem and informed me that the part is now on national backorder until MAY.

He also informed me that this is not the first time a ATLANTIS MAYTAG WASHER has flooded a home. He then told me that MAYTAG uses DEFECTIVE PARTS! We have been in contact with the corporate office and they have agreed to pay our home owners insurance and give me MSRP for the washer only if we turn over the washer to them. I said no way will they get that machine until all of my damnage is fixed. I am now looking for a lawyer to sue Maytag for emtional distress and addtional living expsenses. If you have one of these washers I would always leave the water turned off when not in use. I also had trouble before with it not spining during the spin cycle.
