My wife and I were looking into moving after a drug dealer moved into the house next to us. We decided to buy a mobile home. It was cheaper and would have saved us money in the long run.

We ran along a local website miriclemansions.com

Not only is the title of the site patronizing, the site itself was hilarious. We went to the mobile home park, Hidaway in Yuciapa CA. We paid the $60 for the applications and left. About 20 days later we were approved and paid a total of $1000, for the deposit and insurance.

Now the mobile home was a fixer-uper, so we couldnt move in until we completed the list of things that were required. Now remember, we were approved in January 20 05, and we were required to complete everything by March 1.

My brother-in-law and I started tearing out walls and replacing things. We were working on a budget, and cut corners where we could. We pieced together panels to complete sections of walls. Because we were going to replace all the cabinetry after we moved in, we used whatever flat paint we had. I removed a swamp cooler and replaced it with a skylight.

Now the patio on this dump was half missing, because someone at the park decided to steal it. I requested an extension on the thing because the park management refused to remove a tree which had fallen on the patio the previous winter. On my list of requirements was the repair or replacement of this patio.

A week before March 1, I got an month extension on the patio, but we were not allowed to move in. Then the management decided to get the tree off the patio. So now I was able to repair the patio.

Seeing how the requirement was to 'repair or replace' the patio, I got permission from one of Ian Dyers people, a Nathan Torres, to tear it down and replace it with a vinyl lattice and wood framework. So I tore the patio down, and disposed of it by recycling the metal to fund the replacement.

I was told later that Mr Dyer was very 'disappointed'. Mind you, I was given permission to do this. So now this Nathan Torres has me going to every county department in creation to get a building permit. I cant get a permit until Dyer approves my plan. He never approves my plan, then I get a message that Dyer will call me.

I wait for this guy to call me, and surprisingly he does. He flat out calls me an a$hole and accuses me of breaking every rule the mobile home park has. Turns out that the park managers are watching every move I make and are dramatizing and elaborating on my actions and conversations with them.

Dyer tells me to remove all belongings from the mobile home. Mind you, its like March 8. I have until midnight to remove everything. He tells me that he is considering canceling the contract, meaning we are out about $2500 dollars we dumped into it.

SO I manage to get everything out, virtually on my own. Dyer calls me a week later and demands to know if we want to keep working or give up the contract. I tell him that I need a day to discuss it with my family, so he gives me a day. We decided to not continue this project.

We were eventually refunded $2100.in the course of this, we were left homeless for a month, wasted thousands more on sustaining ourselves, and almost lost our kids. This guy Dyer claims to be a great Christian. As a leader in a Christian church, I doubt Dyers faith and Christian values.

Though we got some of our money back, this whole thing wasted alot of our lives. Unless your desparate to leap through hoops for a home, I wouldnt reccommend this guy or his buisiness for anything.
