Our contract was signed in July last contact was in June with the remainder of the project being abandoned. Schedules were not met, project management was virtually non-existent on Quality's behalf, and communication on progress or lack thereof was extremely poor.
The number of areas that were completed or partially completed were substandard and inferior to expectations and representations made; representations that we relied upon when choosing Quality Kitchens to do our work.in addition, there were unreasonable delays in performance such that the benefit gained from the remodel has substantially been offset by accommodations we have had to make as a result of the kitchen being in a state of construction and unuseable. There are areas where the cabinet dimensions clearly did not comply with the appliance specification sheets provided, in addition to noncompliance with applicable standards. There is one cabinet & drawer that cannot be fixed without removing all the base cabinents and the granite counter top - we are just screwed! Although appliance and light installation was part of the contract the installation that was actually accomplished by quality, that being the electrical connections and sink plumbing, was defective and re-done with outside contractors at additional expense by me. We paid for extra coats of varnish and it needs to be redone in less than a year. Errors No subcontractors were to be used and all craftsmen would be employed by Quality. Quality then used subcontractors for the project without our express authorization.
I withheld their final payment but I have paid more than double (to date) in repairing their defects. Like I stated above not everthing can be repaired.
