We got our first home from oak wood homes in colorado springs, co. It was our first home and we were very young and excited. Everything went well for the first few months. We bought our home in may and moved in to it in july.
After we moved in things were going wrong. 1) We couldn't use our oven to cook because the the outlet that it was pluged in was blown out. They told us that it was the stove and we needed to give GE a call to come fix it.
When GE came out they said that it wasn't the stove but they didn't know what was wrong. It never got fixed. 2) The shower in the master bath was falling completely off the wall. They came to fix that, but it only lasted a week then fall right back off i called them again.
They wanted me to pay them to come fix it this time I said that I wouldn't that never got fixed again. I was three day late paying my payment on the home and they called telling me that i need to pack my bags and get out of that house.
They said that they were coming to take it away the lady on the phone was very rude telling me that I was a bad mother cause I don't pay my bills and now I was going to be homeless with my children. I was totally disrespected.
I felt forced to leave my home. I called them and told asked if someone could consume the loan and we started with that process. Then one day they called me and said that they can't do it anymore. What! I already moved out the home and the other people had moved in.
We did everything. I once more called them cause they said that they were again going to repo my home when I called I was treated with disrespect again. Then a man told me that if I gave him 8000.00 That I would never here from them again, and a repo would not be on my credit. Now two neg. Charges show on my credit one from oakwood and one from vanderbilt whom I have never heard of. Oakwood says that I owe them 45,000.00 and vanderbilt says I owe them 32,000.00.
I don't understand but I have been wanting to do something about oakwood homes for a long time. I didn't pay the 8000.00 like the man told me to do. I knew something was very fishy. Oakwood needs to be put in its place.
