Okay, I have a Palm Treo 680. I keep it great condition. I have it in a hard shell case and have a screen protector for it. I woke up one morning to check the time on the phone and my screen had a black smudge inside of it and nothing appeared on the screen besides that smudge. The smudge is even visible when the phone is off so I knew right away the screen was damaged. I paid 500 dollars for the phone and it has a 1 year warranty and I have only had it for 7 months. I decided to call the customer service and they tell me that I have to go through their online chat support before they can order a repair. I told them kindly that I did not wish to waste my time or theirs because the screen is clearly damaged and a system restore would not solve my issue. So they agreed and put me on hold. The lady comes back and tells me that the screen is not covered in the warranty! It said no where what was and wasn't covered on their warranty. That really irritated me that a company would charge 500 for a phone and not repair my screen after it goes out by itself with no error on my part, but after my rant she keep insisting that the screen wasn't covered. I finally asked for her supervisor and he told me that we will repair the phone not replace it. I was fine with that, but he said if we find out that the screen was damaged because of something you did they will send it back to me non-repaired and if I still wanted it fixed that they would charge my a minimum of 200 dollars which is stupid because a newer version of my phone is 150 with a two year contract. I am just mad because they act like they would go bankrupt if they replaced the screen on the phone I paid 500 dollars for. Does anyone else feel like i was treated badly.
