Eloan complaints: current status, account help and where to report

Statement on eloan.com about unsolicited offers. The eloan.com page "Phishing Definition" (opened 2026-10-18) says: "Eloan is not currently offering new personal loans, therefore we would not contact a person with an offer for a loan at this moment. Furthermore, we will never ask for any confidential information, money or gift cards in exchange for approval for a loan." It adds that Eloan or SST "will never ask you for payment or any value item in exchange for a loan" and that for an email claiming to be from Eloan or SST, the reader should "make sure the sender's address has an alorica.com domain". The eloan.com contact page says: "Texting or calling is not our official communication channel" and that its emails come from the my.eloan.com domain. These are the company's statements; the two pages name different email domains, and we did not determine why.

Other facts below were read on 2026-10-18. The eloan.com home page asks: "Are you an Eloan personal loan customer?" and says: "If you have an active Eloan personal loan, please visit our servicing partner Systems & Services Technologies Inc. (SST)'s website or give them a call to access your account information, make payments, or manage your loan details." It lists "SST Customer Service Toll-Free Telephone: (833) 604-0523" with hours "Monday through Friday from 7am-8pm CT, Saturday from 8am-12pm CT". The "Go to SST servicer website" button leads to accountinfo.com, a site that says it is maintained by Systems and Services Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Alorica Inc.

On Trustpilot, in a reply dated Jul 24, 2026, Eloan wrote: "Eloan is not currently offering new personal loans or offers at this time since early 2022" and "We continuously work to avoid malicious attempts by third parties who use our brand name without our approval to conduct illegal activities." These are the company's statements, read on that page.

  • If you were contacted about a new Eloan loan. Given the company's statement above, check who is contacting you before paying anything. Several archive complaints on this site (2007 and 2012-2013) describe callers who used the names E-Loan, Eloan or ELoans and asked for upfront payments by prepaid card or wire; those are complainants' accounts, and the posts do not establish who the callers were or whether they had any connection to Eloan. Report it to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov and, if you sent money by card or bank transfer, contact your bank or card issuer.
  • If you have an existing Eloan loan. Use the SST channels on eloan.com above for balance, payments and disputes, and keep letters and call notes.
  • Financial-product complaints. The CFPB complaint page (consumerfinance.gov/complaint) says it sends complaints about financial products and services to companies for response and that "Most companies respond within 15 days."

The only phone number displayed on the eloan.com home page is the SST line above. Trustpilot's company-written block for Eloan (read 2026-10-18) lists a different call-center number and hours (Monday to Saturday, 7:30am to 6:00pm CT) and a my.eloan.com login; it differs from what eloan.com displays today, so use the channels on eloan.com. We did not open Popular's own contact pages for this profile.

Who is behind Eloan: trademark owner, servicer and the earlier E-LOAN lender

Today. eloan.com states: "Eloan is a registered trademark of Popular Inc." and its footer gives "Popular, Inc.", 209 Ponce de Leon Avenue, San Juan, PR 00907. The site's Terms of Use describe an agreement with "Popular Inc. (or one of its subsidiaries, divisions or affiliates, including Eloan)". A Popular, Inc. quarterly report for the first quarter of 2019 refers to "originations through the Eloan channel" within consumer loans. The eloan.com link-out notice (home, Terms and login pages, read 2026-10-18) describes "Eloan, a Division of Banco Popular de Puerto Rico". No legal name is entered in the legal-name field because that wording is a site notice and not a registry record; we did not open a registry or licensing record for the entity.

Servicing. eloan.com directs active-loan customers to SST. The SST site says: "This site is maintained by Systems and Services Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary company of Alorica Inc. NMLS 950746."

The earlier E-LOAN. Popular, Inc.'s annual report for 2005 says: "In November of 2005, we acquired E-LOAN, an online consumer direct lender that originated approximately $5.4 billion in mortgage, auto and home equity loans in 2005." Its 2007 Form 10-K says E-LOAN offered online consumer direct lending and that in November 2007 Popular's board "adopted a restructuring plan for E-LOAN"; in December 2007 the company "determined to hold back the origination by E-LOAN of home equity lines of credit, closed-end second lien mortgage loans and auto loans". The 2009 annual report lists "the discontinuance of E-LOAN's lending operations" among actions taken in the U.S. and says the platform was discontinued. Many archive complaints on this site (2000-2008) concern that earlier E-LOAN.

The 2007 Form 10-K states "BPNA owns all of the outstanding stock of E-LOAN, Inc." (BPNA is Banco Popular North America), whereas eloan.com today describes Eloan as a division of Banco Popular de Puerto Rico. The 2009 annual report also says the E-LOAN auto portfolio was sold "during the latter part of the second quarter of 2008"; the buyer is not named there. The sources we read do not describe how today's Eloan personal-loan brand relates to the earlier E-LOAN, Inc. beyond the shared name and Popular ownership.

Complaint record: Trustpilot, regulators and this site's archive

Trustpilot (profile 'Eloan', eloan.com), as displayed on 2026-10-18: average 3.5 from 2,299 reviews; the profile shows "Claimed profile - Sep 2017", a notice that the company has no recent history of asking customers for reviews so reviews "may not be representative", and that the company replied to 100% of negative reviews. One review dated Jul 20, 2026 describes unanswered calls and emails and a blocked account at "eLoan Warehouse"; Eloan's reply says it has not offered new personal loans since early 2022.

CFPB. On 2026-10-18 the CFPB consumer-complaint database's company lookup returned no company named Eloan or E-Loan, and a full-text search for "eloan" returned 0 results. A complaint can still be submitted to the CFPB about a financial product. The database lists Banco Popular de Puerto Rico as a company (1,906 complaints as displayed on 2026-10-18, all products); a full-text search for "eloan" within those returned 0, so none can be tied to Eloan from the database, and that figure is a different company's record, shown separately and not added to anything else on this page.

BBB. A BBB search for "E-Loan" on 2026-10-18 listed several differently located businesses with similar names; none could be tied to Popular's Eloan from the search page, so no BBB figures are shown for it here.

Regulators and courts. A CourtListener case-name search for "E-Loan" on 2026-10-18 returned 84 docket results involving E-Loan, Inc. as a named party. We did not open those dockets, so their subjects, parties' roles and outcomes are not stated and none is listed as a case here. We did not search state regulator enforcement databases, BBB National Programs or Puerto Rico regulator pages by entity name, so no enforcement action is listed, and the absence of one here should not be read as a finding that none exists.

This site's archive. Eight approved archive posts from 2000-2008 are linked as complaints about the earlier E-LOAN lender (see the themes below). Fifteen further posts, from 2007 and 2012-2013, are linked only as reports about callers using the Eloan name; they are not counted as complaints about the lender. Four posts about loan servicers (SST, Popular Mortgage Servicing) naming E-Loan are linked as related, not as Eloan's own. Posts are unverified consumer accounts.

Is Eloan Legitimate?

The Eloan website eloan.com states that Eloan is a registered trademark of Popular Inc. and gives Popular's San Juan, Puerto Rico address. Popular, Inc. is an SEC filer whose reports describe its 2005 acquisition of E-LOAN and the later discontinuance of E-LOAN's lending operations. The company states, in a Trustpilot reply dated Jul 24, 2026, that it has not offered new personal loans since early 2022 and that third parties use its name without approval.

This page does not rate the company. Where a call, text, email or website offers a new Eloan loan, the company's own statement is the starting point; where you hold an existing loan, eloan.com points to SST for account services. Points we could not verify are listed in the sections above.
