My spouse created an internet purchase of apparel from Newport Information about 24 months ago. On checkout, she was requested if she desired “free shipping” using the purchase, of course if therefore, to enter her current email address. She did so. She was evidently signed up for a "one month free trial offer" to magazines, savings and deals. At the conclusion of the one month "free trial offer interval" she was instantly signed up for a $12.95/month "account". Which was 24 months ago. I eventually observed the continuing cost on my charge card statement today, via anything named “Encore Marketing.” I ended today by phone with Encore Advertising (with respect to Newport News). That "free delivery" and "free trial offer" wound up charging people over $310. That is misleading advertising.
