We took our mint condition 1988 Chevrolet Blazer to this company in September for a replacement engine. (@ a cost of $1800 to us) They returned the vehicle to us several weeks later with a used engine, per our request. This engine failed to perform as promised.
The vehicle was returned in November in order to receive a rebuilt engine. (@ an additional cost to us of $1500) The vehicle was returned to us in February with a rebuilt engine and a supposed 60 day, /6,000 mile warranty.
In April, before the 60 day/6,000 mile warranty expired, the vechicle was again returned to them for excessive noise. At this time, we were informed that the engine would be replaced under the warranty. Two months and several phone calls later, we were finally told that the business who had rebuilt the engine no longer existed and therefore we were not entitled to a warranty. Also, note that we were told at this time that we most likely did not break the new engine in properly and that is why it had failed. This had not been mentioned previously. The company said they would do their best to rebuild another engine, but since it was out of pocket, it would have to be done in his spare time.
I received the vehicle back on October 16, after threatening to contact my attorney if the vehicle were not produced, in good running condition, more than one year after the original issue.
I was told there would be absolutely NO warranty on the 3rd engine, my stereo face plate is missing, and all the power items on my dash are disconnected. This was apparently due to inserting (not installing) a 'stock' radio where the $200 stereo had previously been properly installed.
