USA Motors ripoff & dishonest thieves misinformative & a complete total nightmare

There are two complaints I have with Nissan. First and foremost is that when I bought my 2002 Nissan Maxima I was unaware of the problems and troubles I would later endure. Salespeople continued to sell the Maximas even though they completely knew the headlights were defective and could easily be ripped off. I experienced this myself only too late. (Had I known this - I would have never purchased the car)

I had my headlights stolen out of my own driveway in what had to be only a matter of minutes. Thieves knew of the faulty headlights that were installed with no safety brackets as the Maxima was a prime target in my otherwise good and safe neighborhood. My police officers, insurance agent as well as 'Salesperson' were all aware of this except for me. Nissan soon afterwards sent out a recall. When I went in to repair my vehicle and replace the $800.00 a peice headlight they informed me of this.

Yet because it was not a "mandatory" recall - I could not be reimbursed the $500.00 deductible I shelled out plus renting a car for the 2 weeks it took to fix the car. When the police discovered my stolen headlights 3 blocks from my house, they returned them to me. When I brought them to Nissan thinking they could salvage the headlights because the only thing that was cracked was the plastic covering - they informed me the whole headlight needed to be replaced.

Absurd!!! They constructed the headlight in such a way that the whole thing needed to be replaced and the only thing that should have been replaced was the cheap plastic covering. They really raked in the dough repairing all of these vehicles! I can't understand why they would make a headlight like that, which would be so costly to repair for the consumer.

They then told me that they would put in the safety bracket at no cost. Two minutes - too late!

A few months later, I got another recall. This time a Mandatory one. On the circuit board for the crank position sensor may have an improper solder joint due to solder deformation caused by heat stress accelerated by the existence of flux residue during the soldering process.

As a result, this could cause the "service engine soon" warning light to come on, create a no start condition, cause reduced engine power, or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation, which could result in a crash!!!

Imagine driving on a highway at an elevated speed and the engine just stops running - worse than getting in a crash I or anybody else operating this vehicle could have died - you cannot replace a life.

This time this was a huge serious potential threat and I got this recall in for two years I had been driving my car under these conditions - unaware and again I had to bring it to the shop and lose a day to get it fixed.

All in all I incurred much more than I bargained for when I purchased this vehicle. I had a loss of time and money, as well I purchased a relatively expensive car, they should have informed the customers and error-proofed their vehicle before putting it out no the market.instead of fixing their mistakes right away hundreds, probably thousands of people underwent similar ordeals such as I have.
