I scheduled an appointment earlier in the week and dropped my car off this morning at 7:25 A.M. I told the mechanic, there's a noise in the back right corner of the car. I explained that my father is pretty experienced with cars and he said the wheel bearing on the back right was bad and needed replaced. The car is still under warranty at 21,000 miles. (My dad had pointed out to me that a wheel bearing shouldn't need replaced until 100,000 miles.)
My husband spoke with the mechanic at 4 P.M. & was told "it was a crystallized brake" and the charge would be $59.95 because that is not under warranty. When we picked up the car, the noise was still there. IT WAS NOT REPAIRED and they wanted money for something else they say they fixed!
We spoke to the sales manager, who could do nothing, and plan to take the car back early tomorrow morning and speak with the service manager. I'll submit a new report tomorrow with the outcome, but since they didn't fix something that was pointed out to them in the first place, and then didn't even notice that it still made the same noise, I suspect we've been RIPPED-OFF.
