Nationwide is NOT on your side. My brand new 2004 auto was struck while parked and unattended by one of Jim Roger's policyholders. The rear bumper and quarter panel were dented/damaged. The body shop's estimate for repair, including a replacement OEM bumper was $1,043. Nationwide's adjuster refused to allow a replacement bumper, even though the General Motors Warranty requires one. He insisted that we have the bumper "repaired" meaning bondo, body filler, etc. I insisted that the car be restored to the condition it was in before the accident. He refused to discuss "diminished value" which would result from such a repair. When I suggested that I would take legal action, he replied that "You can cost us some money by going to court, but we will win, so go ahead."
The adjuster was rude and arrogant, and treated me as if I was the one at fault for daring to challenge his suggested repair.
The policy holder is a mother of 4 who cannot afford to pay the difference in the actual loss and Nationwide's measly settlement offer of $571. I cannot in good conscience take this woman to court.
She paid her premiums, believed all the advertised "on your side" garbage, and agrees that the bumper should be replaced.
