I bought a bike accessories for 400$ about 2 weeks ago. Before I could take it to checkout, they performed a 15 minute inspection of it.in spite of this, after I rode it out of the shop, I noticed that the front wheel disc brake was hitting against something, so that I got a noise with every turn of the wheel. It was an expensive bike, and I didn't want to damage it, so I did not ride for about a week until I could take it back to the shop. The guy there was helpful, and he tightened the spokes and adjusted the brake and the noise went away. I rode it back home only to find that in the higher gears (7,8 on the right and 2,3 on the left), the chain never quite engaged and made a continuous clicking noise. I am extremely disappointed that Dick's bike staff do not seem to be able to tune up a bike to function correctly even though I took the trouble of taking it back to them. It is extremely inconvenient for me to have to keep taking it back, and there is no guarantee that they will fix this for me without some new problem coming up. I am so glad I did not purchase the 2 year maintenance contract, because if this is the level of expertise at their shop, I would much rather take my custom to Towpath bike about which I have heard good things. I wish I had bought my bike at Towpath rather than at Dicks. I will warn all my friends about Dicks. Extremely disappointed.
