Expressautoparts.com Billed credit card for item they didn't have, never told me it wasn't in stock, refused to refund money

On 8/2/04 I ordered a radiator from expressautopart.com. They immediately billed my credit card & sent me a email stating I would be sent a tracking number when it was shipped.

On 8/10/04 I cancelled the order since they had never bothered to tell me when or if the radiator would ever be shipped. I guess they thought I really didn't need my car very bad. I promptly received a email confirming the cancellation.

On 8/17/04 I sent an email requesting a refund & received a reply stating my request was being forwarded to their credit dept for review.

It is now 8/30/04 & they have not contacted me or issued a refund, so I am filing a disputed transaction claim with my credit card company today.

It appears to me that this may be a scam to get your money & hold it for the maximum time possible. A few thousand customers at a few hundred dollars apiece would add up to a tidy sum in interest even it they eventually have to refund your money.

Be careful, be very careful.
