This is my opinion, take it as an opinion only.
Dallas Dodge Chrysler Jeep, this business is located in beautiful Dallas, Georgia. Dallas Dodge is located just off of Hwy 120 at 1246 Old Griffin Road.
A week ago I went to Dallas Dodge to buy a van for my wife. The van would need to have adjustable pedals and some selected luxury items we all enjoy; but we didn't want anything too expensive. We, my wife and I, intended to trade our loaded 2002 Mazda truck that had only 27K miles.
With all the rebates and a corporate discount, we figured we could do OK, we were WRONG. The agreement on the price of our truck was negotiated and we were satisfied with the offer for our trade. The price of the van was right and we were ready to sign. Well, we got took.
The game started and before it was over we lost $4,200 dollars on the trade of our truck. My college educated military mind didn't help a bit, these guys are good and know how to deceive and put up the smoke and mirrors. It took me about 36 hours of that gut feeling "I was hosed" before I found the scam in the paperwork. The scam was right there, the financial director at Dallas Dodge was very slick.
My suggestion is to never go to a dealer, especially this one, for anything except to pick up your vehicle. Use consumer reports to find advice on buying a car and follow it. My big loss should be your gain. Don't make the same mistake I did and trust your knowledge. These guys and gals sell cars everyday and are very skilled. Most people buy a new one about every 2 to 6 yrs. If you meet them on their turf you a sitting duck for a scam.
If you do not want to be scammed or conned please take my advice and find an honest deal which is not at Dallas Dodge. If you insist on going to a dealer, go to carmax or a non negotiating dealler, even if its priced a little higher you will end up getting a straight deal without hidden rip offs. Sell your car yourself. NEVER TRADE IT, no matter what. Thanks for listening and tell your friends, family and neighbors. The difficult part of this whole incident is that my wife and I nothing to deserve this. All we did was go into a car dealer, tried to buy a safe "American" vehicle for my wife to take my daughter to school and back. When I took the van back to them a day and a half later, with less than 100 miles on the vehicle, I was told "a deal is a deal." And I pleaded with these folks to recind the paperwork because this was not the deal I thought I was getting. The General Manager told me he didnt owe me nothing, he said I was "out negotiated"... Is being deceived now called "out negotiated"? I honestly dont know how this man sleeps at night. The owner of Dallas Dodge, Andy Gill, seems to share the same values or non-values, Andy is well aware of what took place. Its as if I accidently dropped my wallet on the floor of the showroom floor and the salesman handed it to Andy and they say "finders keepers, losers weepers". If these guys were really concerned about me and my wife they would have recinded the deal because we were unhappy. If they though we didnt understand, would they not help us if they were honest?
In closing I will say this. When I served overseas in the military during Desert Storm and many many other conflicts during my 3 tours in the United States Navy, I never envisioned coming back to that very country I defended and finding the enemy of my family right there at the Chrysler Dealer. If this is what American car salesman have turned into I will not buy American again. Oh and by the way, Chrylser Corporation in Michigan washes their hands of the matter, they say the car dealer is their customer, and they have nothing to do with the buyers of those cars. Now I have heard it all.
