Absolutely terrible company - either completely unethical or flat-out incompetent.
First, Colonial Van Lines is actually only a middle man company that farms out contracts to other service providers. I can't say if the others are of any value since it's almost impossible to determine which one you're speaking to at the time - assuming you can get one who speaks enough English to understand.
Second, Colonial handles the actual quotes and estimates - WAAAAAAY underbidding. Either they don't know how to give legitimate quotes or they intentionally underbid to draw you in and get the deposit. Then the fees start racking up. They change moving dates randomly, tack on constant hidden fees while they jerk you around on the phone (because you can never get the same person twice), ignore any complaints/concerns over the phone & then claim you never conferred with them, and ultimately end up making your life miserable.
NEVER SIGN A THING WITH THEM. Avoid them like the plague because they'll actively have you sign a "confirmation document, " not give you copy, and then add in costs & fees to the papers you've signed claiming that you signed off on the "new charges." This is what happened to me, and my attorney says there's not much I can do since I can't prove in a court of law that I was actively mislead. End result is that I'm getting stuck paying more than THREE TIMES the initial quote of $1800.
This company is a SCAM. Get a U-Haul yourself and save yourself a lot of money and a ton of grief.
