In I financed my car through United Auto credit. The price of the car was $10,990.00. I made a $2,000.00 downpayment and an additional $1,000.00 payment just to get the loan. I was desesperated to improve my credit. Unfortunately after more than a year of on time payment i lost my job. With this guys there is no grace period.
When I was unable to make the payment they started calling me the day after payment was due. Few days later, I got a job with a lesser pay, i called them explain them the situation and promised to make a payment asap. They asked some info like my new job phone number, the address, etc. I was naive, 20 days after the due date a tow truck came to my job and repossed the car.
My last payment reported that my balance was $8,331.40. This company reported to the 3 credit bureaus that i have a past due of $13,000 and after selling the car I owe them $7975.00. I am wondering how much they sell the car for ($356.41?). The car look much better at the time of repossession than it was at the time of purchasing. This report is hurting my credit. I don't think is fair to anyone to be penalize by a false report of a servicer.
I wrote them numerous letters to require the paper work of the final sale But I never have an answer. Finally I sent a certified mail with returned receipt, and the letter was returned to me for "not deliverable as addressed, unable to forward". I used the address I always have. Stay away from United Auto Credit Corp UACC
