February 2nd our 6 month payment was due, we sent $2,074.92 (the same payment we sent 6 months earlier) for some reason (we still don't know) our premium had been increased $138 so it was $2,216.58.. 21st Century cashed our check for $2,074.92 on 2/6. On 3/6 we received a check from 21st century for $2,074.92. There was no letter of explaination. Just a check. So, we called and they said well, we cancelled your insurance as of FEBRUARY 2!!! Because you did not pay the right amount... So, we asked did you contact us about the amount or cancellation? They said no... in the state of florida they do not have to give us any notice. Imagine... 3 people driving 3 cars in Pinellas county for 30 days without insurance! Our daughter is 17 and driving and she drives other teenagers... I can only imagine if she had been in an accident and anyone was hurt and we weren't covered... We could have lost everything!!! So, when we called 21st century they told us they would re-insure us but now we were "high risk " because we had been "without insurance" for 30 days... So, now the premium is double... $4,000 every 6 months!!! We called other carriers that we had been with in the past and guess what... They all wanted to charge us double - $4000 every 6 months because we had been without insurance for 30 days. You can guess that this is no accident that they waited 30 days to refund our money and then say that we did not have insurance for 30 days. Also, the DMV sent a letter to my house to inform me that since I didn't have insurance they were going to revoke my driver's license. Effective 4/1... Luckily I was able to go with a group car insurance through my work. Mxx Lxxx... And nothing bad happened to us, But, this is definately a SCAM... Beware!!!
