Mcmahon"s r.V. "buyer beware"

Buyer beware. McMahons R.V. We purchased a new 2011 Heartland Toyhauler 40' from this dealer. After 4mos. On the road brought back to have warranty work done. That included ordering a new bed frame (thats another story). Original hitch that they installed voided the Lippert warranty and shook the truck and RV like an earthquake. That was replaced on the road. Anyway, got home and took unit and dropped off in Oct. 2011. They told me, after authorization, it should only be a matter of 4 to 6 six weeks total, including the authorization. I called in December and was told that nobody had done a thing. Must have fallen through the crack! Okay, I understand stuff happens. Again, promised this would be a priority and would get right to it (another quote). I called in Jan. And left at least trhee messages before somone returned my call.By now, I am also dealing with service manager. He is about as inept as they come (no longer there). I also mention to this manager that the new 15,500. BTU that was part of the deal was, indeed, not a 15.5.instead, they installed a 13,000 BTU. A technician was going to replace a damaged shell on this unit somewhere in Wyoming last summer. It was at this time that he mentioned that it was not a 15.5 but a 13., and to him, it was a much older unit. The service manager told me that the Gen Mgr. Said that it was free what do I have to complain about? I did not hear the GM say this but he did not return any of the requests that I had left for a callback. This week, (April), I left two messages with the service advisor. No return call. Then, I mentioned this to the receptionist, and she promised to hand deliver the request to him. Still, no call.in turn, I called and requested to speak with the new service manager. I left him a message, and he did return my call same day. At that time he mentioned that the service advisor was out ill for that part of the week. Understand, but the employees apparnetly do not communicate or I would have been told that.

Back to the mess. The service manager told me that all parts were in and ready for me to bring the coach back over. I told him that I would drop off Monday and that I needed this back very quickly because I am going on a road vending tour and need this unit. It is where I live and store products. He indicated that was not a problem. Just get it here and they will start immediately. On Friday I notice that I have a phone message from the service advisor in which he relayed the following message: I have been out sick this week but your parts are still not here. I will get on the phone Monday and try to figure it out. So, this morining, Sat, April 7, I called and talked with another service advisor. I mentioned this last part of one saying yes we have and the other saying no we dont. He took it upon himself to look for my parts. He found the invoice and checked the parts holding area. He then affirmed that there were no parts for our coach. He further promised that he would have them air shipped there first thing on Monday.

Maybe they should have tried this one, two, three, four, or five months ago. I still can not believe how these people survive. It is the worst business experience of my 64yrs. On the planet earth! Once, many months ago, I called, and being frustrated, I mentioned to the person that answered that I was upset but did not want to take it out on her. She said that she understood. After a small discussion, it dawned on me that I cant be the only one that is this upset. She gave a chuckle, and said: Oh, one customer just went steaming out the door and, she added, the following: This is commonplace around here. Happens all the time!

I am now going to request a refund on an extended service contract (joke on me) because I never will step foot on a McMahons lot again. No wonder they have lawsuits filed against them. I just may be next!
