On my way down from SF to Palo Alto, my clutch in my 911 started making some weird plastic sound when it was compressed. I had my assistant find me a Porsche repair along the way, and she found High Performance House in Redwood City.
I took it there to get 4 things fixed after they gave me a $500 quote. I thought $500 was a reasonable quote, so I agreed to let them do the 4 things. $2100 later, and only 2 things done right, I am furious with this scam.
1) Make a duplicate Key
Their Solution: They didnt even bother telling me they didnt do it until I noticed it wasnt in the car the next day.
2) Stop the seats from squeaking when moving. It makes people feel fat.
Their solution: Bought some parts, did a few hours of labor, I paid a lot of money, and it still squeaks.
3) Fix the plastic piece in my clutch.
They fixed it. Yay.
4) The drivers side seat would get stuck when all the way forward.
Their solution: I warned him of how it gets stuck if it goes all the way forward. Well, in the $2100 final bill, he said he had to spend a few hours getting the seat unstuck because he moved it all the way forward. I TOLD YOU THAT WOULD HAPPEN! Why am I paying for those hours?
The $500 bill for 4 things turned into $2100 for 2 things. The day I was suppose to pick it up, the bill was suppose to be $1097! He decided to DOUBLE it on me when I picked it up a few hours later. It also took 3 weeks to do all of this.
Avoid this place at all costs. They scam you by giving you a low quote, then make it seem like its going to be a little bit more expensive. Then when you pick it up, nothing is done correctly and they have a huge bill for you.
