I had problems with these guys. DAS wanted a $1100 to transport a lotus from Camarillo CA to Parma ID. They turned up to collect the car on the day they were due to arrive, which was good, but broke the spoiler and then left telling the contact that the car was too low to move.
At this point things went down hill. I beleive at that time they should have called me and told me what had happened, as it was I found out later from the contact in Camarrilo. Repeated attempts to get hold of DAS customer service failed with lines busy and being placed on hold. I once spent over an hour listening to the jingle waiting to get answered.
This continued for several days until completely frustrated I managed toget hold of an operator in CA who connected me to the local manager in CA. He was appologetic but could not sort out the issue because it had to be delt with by customer service who of course are permanently engaged. He finally managed to transfer me internaly to the manager of this division who was away from their desk and although I left a message never got back to me.
Totaly frustrated and angry I contacted the credit card company who informed me that my credit card was debited for the full amount on the date the order was placed, two weeks before the car was supposed to be shipped, which is illegal.in the meantime the credit card company contacted DAS and within one hour of speaking to the card company DAS contacted me, they did not want too lose the business but it would now require specialized transport at a cost of $2400 at which point I told them I wanted my money back and it was credited this month.
The moral of this story is as a consumer always use a credit card and never use DAS.
