I received a phone call today from a young friend of ours today needing some advice about a brake job her car needed. She had already taken the car to a place named "Just Brakes" and left her car for an estimate that turned out to be $600 that she could not afford as 1st year college was starting soon and asked me to take a look and advise her as what to do as she knew that I had been involved in the car repair business for many years as well as aircraft maintenance and flying.
On the way, I asked her to call ahead and make the car drive as we would seek another solution to the problem. When she called, the manager, named David yelled at this girl for about 5 minutes for being "stupid" and listening to"dumb boyfriends" about problems that would most certainly kill her in the first minute of driving.
After arrival I was referred to a large blowhard jerk that immediately questioned my experience.
After explaining my background as a BSME, grew up in the car repair business, an FAA license with A&P auth, also with an aircraft inspectors auth with ATP and many type ratings, I was called an "Idiot"-anyway we got the car back-it cost$108 for me to do a 100%quality service. "stupid"was referred to as "dumb old boyfriend". She is 18, I am 62. Stay out of these places.
