Rude collectors despite hardship from husband's pay cut

I know I am behind in my car payments but... These are the times... My husband had to take a 20% pay cut for the last two years, so I am trying to keep my head above water. But they have no customer service manner... I owe less than $4,820.00 and am willing to work with them, but they have no tact; they are mean and, well, I cannot wait to pay off my car...
