Three years ago, before my wife and I were married, my wife bought a PT-Cruiser from Family Chrystler in Chadds Ford, Pa. I should say THOUGHT she bought it because the salesman lied to and cheated her. When asked several times to verify that the car was a purchase and not a lease, he told my wife that it was a purchase, not a lease, and that she would own the car in three years. He lied outright and tricked her into a three year $342 a month contract for a base model PT Cruiser. That was with the trade value in of her previous car of $1500 dollars. Not until she received the payment book was there any hint of it being a lease. Then, with her trade in gone and no way to get another vehicl, my wife was stuck between a rock and a hard place. The Family Chrystler dealer is gone. Chrystler still wants their end of lease charge, milage fee, final months payment, and what not. I don't think we owe them anything since my wife was lied to and told this was a purchase. Whe was a vulnerable person who was taken advantage of. Do we have any options other than paying Chrystler a lot more money that is not deserved to get out of this lease? The last payment is coming up in Dec.
