Complaint / Review
Daytona Toyota
Legal Larceny

This incident happened in late I have been burning ever since, and I just found your website. I am very happy to file this belated report on a very dishonest car dealer.

To keep a long story short, my wife & I were in our 70's, me almost 80. My wife is diabetic, and I have the usual old person problems. Have to rest and eat often.
We stopped into this Toyota dealer just to look at their offerings. We owned an almost new 2003 Class 3 RV (still on payments) & and a 2000 Chrysler Concorde LXI, in new condition.

I told the salesman we weren't in the position to purchase a new car because of the RV & other car. That we didn't want a lease. He said, no problam, they would deal for both of them.

They kept us there for over 8 hours (did have a little lunch), holding our keys, my wife & I both feeling sick, hadn't eaten, They were Soo nice, all kinds of excuses.
I had heard that there was a 72 hour grace period on sales, so, just to get out of the dealership, we finally signed their contract. (I now know we should have called the law.)

The result was, we ended up with a Toyota camry with 6500 miles on it (supposedly a supervisors car) on a 5 year lease, payments of over 400/month, and lost the Chrysler & RV.

Next day we went back, the sale was FINAL!
I went back 5 times, pleading - No help.
Went to an attorney, were told it would cost too much to fight it and the attorney also ripped us off with a visit overcharge.

I wrote letters to the dealership, to Toyota Corporate, to no avail.

We finally got out from under the lease, the entire, sad situation has cost us thousande of dollars, which we are paying off, to this day.

We have since heard that this dealer has done the same thing to others.

So, Please, please if you want a Toyota, don't buy one in Daytona Beach, Florida!
